English Teachers Round Tables

Round Tables provide an opportunity for English and Language Arts teachers to share and discuss matters relating to English teaching, and to share experiences, examples of good practice, show off students work and so on. Each Round Table has a Chair to guide the discussion and a pre-announced topic. Come along with advice, suggestions, criticisms – tell us of successes (and failures). Share approaches and methods. Bring examples of student work. The primary purpose of these Round Tables is for teachers to share, but participants should not feel obligated to speak. Just remember – the best ideas in teaching are usually someone else’s!

Round Tables are held at the Institute on Wednesdays, 7.30 – 9.00pm and the list of forthcoming Round Tables can be found by clicking on Events. Any teacher may participate in a Round Table, however we ask that all intending participants register beforehand using the Event Registration form so that we know how many to expect.

Participation in a Round Table is free to Institute members, although a $10 registration fee will be levied at their first Round Table to cover administrative expenses, copying, tea and coffee and so on. Non-members pay a $5 fee per Round Table.
